Am Fuße des Berliner Fernsehturms befindet sich das wohl umstrittenste Museum Deutschlands. Das Menschen-Museum ermöglicht seinen Besuchern Einblicke in die Struktur und das Innere des menschlichen Körpers, die noch nie so faszinierend und ästhetisch dargestellt wurden. Es sind echte menschliche Körper, plastiniert von erfahrenen Anatomen, ausgestellt. Mehr als 200 individuelle Plastinate stellen Organfunktionen und auch häufige Krankheiten dar.
Mit seinen KÖRPERWELTEN-Ausstellungen revolutionierte Dr. Gunther von Hagens die Museumswelt. Im medizinischen Institut der Universität Heidelberg entwickelte er das Verfahren der Plastination. Die Methode, Wasser aus den Zellen im Vakuum durch Harze und Kunststoffe zu ersetzen ist schon seit vielen Jahren bekannt. Hagens Methode ermöglicht als Einzige, die Plastination großer organischer Präparate.
The probably most controversial museum of Germany is located at the foot of the Berlin Fernsehturm. The Menschen-Museum permits his visitors insights into the structure and the inside of the human body, which were never represented so fascinating and aesthetically. The museum exhibits real human bodies, plastinated by experienced anatomists. More than 200 individual Plastinates represent organ functions and frequent diseases.
Dr. Gunther von Hagens revolutionized with his exhibitions “KÖRPERWELTEN” the full spectrum of museum in a given area. He developed the method of the plastination in the medical institute of the University of Heidelberg. The method, of replacing water from the cells by resins and synthetic materials during a vacuum has been already known for many years. Only Hagen’s method makes the plastination of big organic preparations possible.
In the context of our museum visit, students from all involved countries and with different religions expressed their lack of understanding about the fact, that it is made to the exhibition over and over again so difficult to establish oneself in the man-made landscape. Unanimous opinion of all students: This museum visit should be a part of the curriculum.
