Das Ethnographische Museum befindet sich in Budapest direkt dem Parlament gegenüber. Das Museum wurde im Jahr 1872 von einem sehr berühmten ungarischen Naturwissenschafler, János Xantus gegründet. Er wurde zum Leiter des Ethnographischen Museums ernannt, und er hat gleich auch die ersten Ausstellungen zusammengestellt und präsentiert. Das Museum ist im Gebäude des ehemaligen Justizpalastes. Es wurde am Ende des 19. Jahr- hundert nach den Plänen von Alajos Hauszmann im eklektischen Stil gebaut. Wenn man durch das Haupttor in das imposante Gebäude eintritt, erreicht man den Festsaal des Gebäudes. Die Decke des Saales ist mit Fresken von Károly Lotz dekoriert. Dieser Raum ist oft Schauplatz wichtiger staatlicher Veranstaltungen. Das Museum verfügt über eine reiche Sammlung aus der ungarischen Folklore. Seine Dauerausstellungen widmen sich der Kultur des ungarischen Volkes und der Kultur der europäischen und außereuropäischen Völker von den Urzeiten bis heute.

The Museum of Ethnography is located right in front of the Parliament, in Budapest. The museum was founded in 1872 and its first director was a famous Hungarian natural historian called János Xántus, who also ma- de and introduced the first exhibition of the museum. The museum is housed in the building of the late Palace of Justice. It was built in the end of the 19th century, in eclectic style and by Alajos Hauszmann. If you enter the imposing building through the front-door, you reach the hall of the museum. The ceiling of the hall is decorated with frescoes, which were pain by Károly Lotz. This room often houses important state events. The museum owns a rich collection of different items from the Hungarian folklore. The museum’s permanent exhibition provides the visitors interesting facts about culture of the Hungarian folk and also of European and non-European folks from time immemorial to the present.

A Néprajzi Múzeum Budapesten, közvetlenül a Parlamenttel szemben található. A múzeumot 1872- ben egy híres magyar természettudós, Xantus János alapította. Őt nevezték ki a múzeum igazgatójává. Ugyancsak ő állította össze, majd mutatta be az első kiállításokat. A múzeum az egykori Igazságügyi Palota épületében található. Az épület 19. század végén Hauszmann Alajos tervei alapján, eklektikus stílusban épült. Ha a főkapun keresztül az impozáns épületbe lépünk, a díszterem tárul elénk. A terem mennyezetét Lotz Károly freskói díszítik, ez a helyszín megannyi fontos állami rendezvénynek ad otthont. A múzeum gazdag népművészeti gyűjteménnyel rendelkezik, állandó kiállítása a magyar nép, valamint az európai és Európán kívüli népek kultúráját mutatja be.
