Das Museum für Technik befindet sich auf der historischen Insel Kuninkaankartano in der Nähe der wenig bekannten Helsinkier Altstadt in dem ehemaligen Gelände des Wasserwerks der Stadt Helsinki, das von der Stadt in den 1970er Jahren renoviert und in ein Museum umgewandelt wurde.
Das Museum präsentiert die Geschichte von Technik und Industrie als Geschichte über Finnland und die Finnen – es bringt die Geschichten zum Leben. Es ist das einzige allgemeine Museum für Technik in Finnland.
Ein Besuch im Museum ist voller Spaß und bietet dem Besucher neue Erlebnisse, Informationen und Aktivitäten und es ist für alle Altersgruppen geeignet. Die Hälfte der Ausstellungen sind auf Englisch. Führungen und Mobile-Guides sind auch auf Englisch verfügbar.
Eine neue Ausstellung „Das Land der Technik“ wird im Oktober 2017 der Öffentlichkeit zugänglich gemacht. Die Ausstellung zeigt die Bedeutung von Technologie, Industrie und Innovation für das moderne Finnland.

The Museum of Technology is located on the historic Kuninkaankartano island near the Helsinki’s little-known Old Town in the former premises of the waterworks of the City of Helsinki, which was renovated by the city into museums in the 1970’s.
The Museum of Technology presents the history of technology and industry as a story about Finland and the Finns – bringing the stories to life. It is the only general museum of technology in Finland.
A visit to our museum is full of fun, new experiences, information and activities suitable for all ages. Half of our exhibitions are in English. Guided tours and a mobile guide are also available in English.
A new basic exhibition “The Country of Technology” will be opened to the public in October 2017. The exhibition shows the importance of technology, industry and innovation for modern Finland.

Tekniikan museo
Tekniikan museo sijaitsee historiallisella Kuninkaankartanon saarella Helsingin Vanhankaupungin tuntumassa vesilaitoksen entisissä tiloissa, jotka kaupunki saneerasi museotiloiksi 1970-luvulla.
Tekniikan museon näyttelyt kertovat ajan, ihmisen ja teknologian suhteesta. Ne tuottavat elämyksiä yleisölle ja antavat uusia näkökulmia tekniikan ilmiöihin.
Museokäynti tarjoaa hauskoja, uusia kokemuksia, tietoa sekä toimintaa kaikenikäisille. Opastuksia ja mobiilioppaita on tarjolla englanniksi ja noin puolessa näyttelyistä on englanninkieliset tekstit.
Uusi perusnäyttely ”Tekniikan maa” aukeaa yleisölle lokakuussa 2017. Näyttely kertoo teknologian, teollisuuden ja innovaatioiden merkityksestä modernille Suomelle.
